The full ladder goes on this page shortly. Until then you get every figure in writing within three working days of the call — the build fee, the twelve months of care, and the first-year total on one page. Nothing is quoted verbally and nothing changes after you have agreed it.

Builds

Three builds.

Build What you get Fixed fee Time
Refresh The site you already have, made to work. I fix the enquiry path so it asks for the business, tidy the look and the words on the pages that matter, fix the broken links, the stale content and the things that no longer work, then the get-found basics: page titles and descriptions, Google Business Profile claimed or set up, analytics and Search Console connected, sitemap and indexing sorted. Works on whatever you run today. In your quote 2 days
Site A new site, up to six pages. Built on my own stack with your brand applied. Contact form, analytics, search basics, accessibility built to WCAG 2.2 AA intent, a proper privacy and cookie set-up. In your quote 2.5 days
Site+ Up to twelve pages, and you can edit it yourself. Everything in Site, plus content editing you will actually use, a news or blog section, one integration — booking or enquiry — and an hour’s training. In your quote 4.5 days

Every build also carries twelve months of Care+, billed monthly. It is a condition of the build rather than an option — the reason is on the care page.

A migration, a membership area, payments, or several suppliers to hold together is a different kind of job. It is scoped first and quoted per engagement, and it is handled under Bowers Advisory rather than here — at that size you are buying senior accountability for a programme rather than a website.

Looking after it

Two care plans.

Plan What it covers Per month Included time
Care+ Hosting, DNS and SSL managed. Backups and uptime monitoring. Platform and dependency updates applied and tested. Changes, out of the quarterly hours. A monthly performance check and a quarterly summary in plain English. In your quote 3 hours a quarter
Assured Everything in Care+, with priority response, plus a written annual review of accessibility, privacy, backups, domain and certificate renewals — addressed to your board, your trustees or your funder, and written to be read by them rather than by me. In your quote 6 hours a quarter

Included time is a quarterly bank and it expires. Three hours a quarter means three hours in that quarter, not thirty-six hours saved up for a redesign in year three. I would rather say that plainly now than argue about it in month nine.

Add-ons

The extras, priced up front.

Add-on Price
An extra page beyond the agreed set In your quote
Copy written from scratch, per page In your quote
A second revision round In your quote
Re-booking a build slot after a missed content deadline In your quote
Support without a care plan In your quote
A published case study In your quote
An additional article In your quote

Charities and social enterprises

A published discount, not a negotiated one.

Registered charities get a published discount on build fees. It is published rather than negotiated, so you have a number you can put straight into a funding application without ringing me first. It applies to builds. Care plans are already priced thinly and are not discounted.

The Assured plan tends to be the one that fits — the written annual review is the document that answers a trustee or a funder asking whether the website is accessible, whether personal data is handled properly, and who is responsible for it.

Getting your content to me

The one thing that decides whether a fixed price holds.

This is the single thing that decides whether a fixed price holds, so it is a term rather than a hope. Content arriving late and in pieces is what turns a two-day build into a six-week one.

  • Your content is due by a date written into the quote, before the build slot opens.
  • If it is more than ten working days late, the slot is released and re-booked at the next availability.
  • One revision round is included.
  • You do not have to write it yourself — I will tell you at the scoping call whether you need copy written, and quote for it.

What I do not do

Said early, rather than stretched to fit.

E-commerce, payments, membership areas and logins. Email hosting and migration. New builds on third-party platforms — a Refresh works on whatever you already have, but when I build from scratch I build on my own stack. Ongoing search campaigns beyond the get-found basics. And I cannot work on a platform I cannot get access to, which is worth checking before we start.

If you need any of those, I will say so early and point you somewhere sensible instead of stretching to fit.

How to start

Three steps, and you can stop after the first.

  1. 01

    A thirty-minute call

What you have, what it needs to do, and who is going to ask you about it. If the honest answer is that you do not need a new website, I will tell you on the call.

  2. 02

    A fixed quote

Within three working days. Fixed scope, fixed fee, and the content deadline written into it so the price holds.

  3. 03

A build slot, confirmed in writing

Booked once your content is ready. Fifty per cent books it; the balance is due before go-live.

The small print

  • 50% books your build slot. The balance is due before go-live.
  • Quotes hold for 30 days.
  • Care plans are monthly and you can stop after the first twelve months with a month’s notice.
  • Platform subscriptions and domains are billed at cost, in your name. I do not mark them up and I do not hold them.
  • No VAT is charged. Bowers Advisory Ltd is not VAT registered.

Contact

Start with a
thirty-minute call.

What you have, what it needs to do, and who is going to ask you about it. A fixed quote follows within three working days. If the honest answer is that you do not need a new website, I will tell you on the call.
